our friend and main style contributor, lauren ashley golt loves diy and pinterest as much as we do, so she is back with us for a special #fashionfriday to discuss some of our favorite diy fashion related projects. these are perfect projects for a fun and creative girls night out {we’ll bring the wine!}. if you can’t get a sitter, some of these would even be fun to do with your little ones depending on their age and crafting skill level.
have fun getting crafty!

since pinterest has taken precedence over how many of us spend our free time, i will assume you have probably stumbled across several phenomenal diy projects. if you haven’t, start browsing! it’s amazing what people come up with. every time i browse through pinterest i think about how much money i could save if i master some of these projects.
fashion trends like macrame bracelets and color-blocked tops can all be made by hand. all you need is time (funny right?) and a little creativity. so call the sitter, grab some supplies and make martha stewart proud! the best thing about a fashionable diy project is the end result is for you!

neon rhinestone necklace
my fabulous friend kelly hockenberry loves the look of dannijo necklaces but didn’t love the idea of spending hundreds of dollars on a single piece of fashion jewelry. instead she hit a local thrift shop, bought a vintage rhinestone necklace and colored the stones with neon nail polish. the end result was just as gorgeous but way more affordable.
envelope clutch
and last but not least, who couldn’t use a bright yellow clutch in their handbag collection. for instructions - http://www.stylescrapbook.com/2011/03/diy-yellow-clutch.html
