happy #fashionfriday and belated 4th of July! we really enjoyed our time with family and friends this week celebrating the 4th at summer bbqs and watching fireworks. we hope everyone had a great time this week too and are staying cool and safe with this summer heatwave!

can we all agree that having the 4th of july fall on a wednesday this year was a total bummer? granted I didn’t mind the mid-week rest and relaxation but still…i would have preferred a long weekend! anyway, even though the 4th has passed (can you believe it?) this weekend gives us all a chance to partake in a fabulous summer staple: the bbq!

this look is very casual and comfortable. the crossbody bag means you won’t have to worry about holding a purse, the sandals are simple (and easy to kick off) and the top is lightweight. We love the blue pants…so patriotic!

this look is a tad dressier, only because it’s a skirt. the denim top keeps the outfit casual and bbq-appropriate. wedges are perfect for walking on grass and the necklace adds some bling but won’t get in the way.
